Nichume Siwundla died last week after allegedly taking her own life.

The house vocalist hinted that all was not well before her death. A few days before her birthday, she shared a post about celebrities like Robin Williams who lost their battle with depression to suicide.

“Can I please just have one good day?” she wrote on May 20.

The singer wrote in a separate tweet: “I can’t remember the last time I was genuinely happy, like that happy you feel where you find yourself laughing alone for no reason because everything is so good… adulting is the pits shame!”

One Twitter exchange between Nichume and Denise is getting a lot of attention after her death

Denise criticised the cover art of the Bhutiza singer’s single.

“No disrespect to the artist BUT … For a DEBUT single, do you think that this is of great standard… who approved this artwork? … Denise wrote in May.

Nichume responded: “Drag me.”

While Denise meant no harm with her post and was only criticising the cover artwork, Twitter users are now accusing her of cyberbullying.

Some even blamed her for Nichume’s death

“Denise your cyberbulling is ONE of the reasons why Nichume killed herself. You destroyed her self-confidence. Shame on you,” one tweep wrote.

Another added: “#RIPNichume but let’s never forget that Denise MIGHT have contributed to her suicide. Her cyberbulling was uncalled for. Sometimes women can be their own worst enemies. Denise destroyed her self-confidence. We need to address cyberbulling as it is one of the causes of suicide.

Many were appalled by the “disgusting” comments made about Denise in the wake of Nichume’s death.

“Why are you idiots blaming Denise for Nichume’s death? Have you not critiqued someone’s work in your life? Must she be punished for someone not being able to take criticism? Your fake outrage is exposing your stupidity.”

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also weighed in.

“What is happening right now about Nichume & Denise is disgusting! Shame on you if you blame Denise for Nichume’s suicide. Ya’ll need to check yourself. Maybe ya le right in your hearts or brain. When did critiquing art become bullying? Haaibo! #RipNichume.”
